Sets up and operates oxyacetylene, arc, inert gas tungsten arc, inert gas metal arc and resistance welding equipment to weld a wide variety of experimental and production parts, subassemblies, assemblies and structures of all types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Performs all types of brazing and soldering to join various metallic materials.
*2nd Shift - 2:30PM - 11:00PM- Andover, MA. This position is an onsite role.**Must pass Technical Interview and pass an external hands-on assessment at a Raytheon approved supplier.* What you will do: \n - Works from prints, specifications, sketches, process sheets, engineers' instructions and written and /or oral instructions to perform various welding, brazing and soldering operations to meet bot h Company and military specifications.
\n - Improvises or fabricates holding fixtures as necessary.
\n - Selects or uses specified welding equipment making any necessary setups and adjustments.
\n - Selects required filler materials for the proper fusion of various metals and alloys.
\n - Determines sequence of welding operations utilizing extensive knowledge of welding heat effects in order to avoid distortion and maintain required close tolerances.
\n - Performs welding on a wide range of Company products.
\n - Pre-heats and post-heats materials when required. Utilizes tensile testing equipment to perform required pull tests prior to resistance welding.
\n - Performs all types of brazing using such equipment as gas torches, induction brazers and vacuum brazing furnaces and using appropriate fillers and fluxes.
\n - Performs soft soldering operations using such equipment as soldering iron, ultrasonic solderer and gas torches.
\n - Performs any repair or rework on purchased and shop items involving the same level of skills required for the above duties.
\n - Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment.
\n - Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties.
\n - Performs other similar duties as required or directed.
\n - Machines, Tools, and Equipment used, includes but not limited to: Various types of welding equipment including oxyacetylene, spot and roll seam resistance, inert gas metal arc, and arc welders, torch, induction and vacuum furnace brazing equipment, hand iron, torch and ultrasonic soldering equipment, cleaning tanks, vapor degreaser, ovens, hydraulic clamping and straightening equipment, bending tables, welding and locating fixtures, d rill plates, vises, clamps, turntables, pressure testers, transit and tensile testers, resistance analyzing equipment, grinders, do-all saws, hand power tools, chain falls, ladders, exhaust equipment, precision measuring instruments and a variety of common hand tools.

Qualifications You Must Have: \n - High school diploma or equivalent
\n - Minimum of 6 years production experience with a primary responsibility in fusion welding complex weldments requiring various positions/processes (GMAW and GTAW) of multiple alloys where there is inspection to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
\n - Acceptable proof of current or prior welding certification to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
\n - Post-Offer Testing Requirement: You will be required to take post-offer qualifying assessments to determine whether you meet the Raytheon specific qualifications for this position.

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and workplace conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.
