Our client is a non-profit organization. They seek a temp Senior Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Document revenue and cash receipt/credit card transactions triggered by various revenue sources/streams
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Examine and resolve discrepancies related to billing or payment issues
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as the Development Team, The Shop, and Visitor Experience to resolve AR-related issues
• Revise various required reports in relation to revenue streams
• Sustain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and GAAP
• Assess cash and credit card transactions, investigate discrepancies/errors, and perform bank reconciliations
• Observe internal control procedures and obtain proper approvals in relation to AR responsibilities
• Collaborate with other team members in response to audit requests
• Determine opportunities for process improvements in AR and implement best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 2+ years of transactional/corporate accounting experience
• Non-profit industry preferred
• Ability to handle day to day AR
• Organized, analytical, detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Sage Intacct and MS Excel knowledge preferred
