BayCare is currently in search of our newest Occupational Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. BayCare Alliant Hospital is licensed as a 48-bed long term acute care specialty hospital and accredited by The Joint Commission. Alliant Hospital provides extended acute care services to patients requiring a longer period of time for medical treatment and recovery. As a “hospital within a hospital,” we offer 24-hour easy accessibility to emergency room physicians, diagnostic testing, radiology, laboratory and surgical services

Occupational Therapist responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities using standardized tools and clinical observations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and interdisciplinary input.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services including training in self-care, adaptive equipment use, neuromuscular re-education, and cognitive rehabilitation.
• Document and track patient progress regularly; modify treatment plans as necessary to meet goals and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with the care team to assist in safe discharge planning, recommending appropriate equipment, home modifications, or continued therapy services.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, case managers, and other health professionals to ensure cohesive care.
• Educate patients and families about treatment goals, strategies for daily living, and safe techniques for managing long-term conditions at home.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• OT (Occupational Therapy)
• Or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain
• Required Bachelor's Occupational Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Occupational Therapy

Location: BayCare Alliant Hospital- Dunedin, FL

Status: Part Time/Days, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: Negotiable, 2 Saturdays per month

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: No
