Small personal injury practice is seeking a full-time remote paralegal (spanish-speaking preferred) working Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM with 10 years' of experience. Will be required to come into the office time from time.
Training and employment will be remotely, but there will be instances where he or she will need to visit our office in Mineola, NY. There is a strong desire for the candidate to have a vehicle in case travel is necessary.

- Be responsible for, and handling a bulk of, cases;
- Drafting and/or formatting litigation documents, including BPs, Responses to Combined Demands, Notices for Discovery & Inspection, RJIs, Stipulations, Letters, etc.;
-Medical record requests, including completion of HiTech Letters & HIPPAs;
-Following-up on medical record requests with medical providers;
-Scanning documents to the correct folder in the case and properly labeling them;
-Opening the mail and running it through the date-stamp machine (when covering in office) as well as mailing things;
-Shredding documents after scanning them;
-Answering the phones and taking messages;
-Responding to e-mails;
-Talking to clients;
-Drafting and/or formatting ligation documents for cases;
-Opening new cases;
-Trial Prep;
-Learning how to use our case management software: Clio;
-Keeping tabs on office supplies so that we can order more as they get low;
-Handling the calendar of appearances, such as depositions, conferences, and trials, and documenting same with reminders; and
-Creating your own tickle system to follow up on matters.
