Schedule : 8:30 am - 5 :00 pm 40hrs/wk

Unit - Outpatient Pharmacy

Outpatient Pharmacy technician in Hospital Pharmacy. Duties include customer service, Data entry, answering phones, pulling medication.
2 years exp required
No travelers, looking for local candidate within 30 minutes or accessible to public transportation (parking is difficult)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prescription Processing : Accurately enter and process outpatient prescriptions, ensuring timely adjudication with third-party insurance plans. 
2. Medication Dispensing : Prepare and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, maintaining precision in labeling and dosage calculations. 
3. Inventory Management : Maintain appropriate inventory levels by ordering medications, unpacking deliveries, removing expired drugs, and restocking shelves. 
4 .Patient Interaction : Assist patients at the pharmacy counter, handle inquiries, and provide information regarding medication availability and insurance coverage. 
5. Insurance Coordination : Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and communicate benefit information to patients and clinical staff. 
6. Collaboration : Work closely with pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless medication access and patient care.
7. Regulatory Compliance : Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including controlled substance handling and documentation standards.
