Job Description: Yard Driver (Class A CDL Required)

We're looking for a dependable and safety-minded Yard Driver to join our team. With a valid Class A CDL, you'll be a vital part of our operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of trailers, containers, and equipment around our facility. Your keen attention to detail will help us keep things running on schedule and maintain our high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport trailers and containers between docks and designated staging areas.
• Operate yard trucks, tractors, and other equipment in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and equipment checks.
• Communicate effectively with our dispatch, warehouse, and operations teams to optimize workflow.
• Assist with loading dock operations, including spotting trailers and securing equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols to keep the yard clean, organized, and hazard-free.

Qualifications

• A valid Class A CDL is required.
• Previous yard or tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Good communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and physical requirements.

Working Conditions

• Physical: This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb in and out of trucks for long periods, as well as lift up to 40 lbs.
• Environment: You'll be working in an outdoor yard and warehouse environment, with exposure to various weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

Schedule: This position may include evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed to support operational demands.
