Travel Coordinator (1099 Contractor)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Coordinator (1099 Contractor) to manage travel logistics for employees who must deploy rapidly to disaster-affected areas. This role requires a detail-oriented, resourceful professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can adapt to shifting priorities during high-demand periods.

The Travel Coordinator will work on a contract basis, providing support as needed, with workload increasing significantly during disaster events.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic travel arrangements for employees, including flights, hotels, and rental cars.
• Respond quickly to urgent travel needs during disaster deployments, often with short notice.
• Manage travel itineraries, confirmations, and last-minute changes.
• Negotiate with airlines, hotels, and rental agencies for group and corporate rates when applicable.
• Track travel expenses, ensure cost-effective arrangements, and provide summaries for accounting.
• Communicate with employees to ensure smooth travel experiences and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Maintain organized records of travel bookings and vendor contacts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in travel coordination, travel agency work, or corporate travel management.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in urgent, time-sensitive situations.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with online booking tools, airline/hotel systems, and Excel
• Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset.
• Flexible availability during disaster events ( including evenings and weekends when necessary).
• Previous experience supporting emergency response, construction, restoration, or similar industries preferred.

Contract Details

• Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (not an employee role).
• Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and availability.
• Hours: Variable, with surge in demand during natural disaster events. Employee would be required to complete a minimum 10 hour (or more) compensated training period.

Location: Fully remote; must have reliable internet and phone access.
