Software Engineer II - Back End Chewy's Product Catalog Management team is on a mission to build and maintain innovative solutions that enable our internal stakeholders to seamlessly manage or access Chewy's large catalog of product and item identify information. Chewy is hiring a Software Engineer II - Back End for our Boston, MA office as part of our Product Catalog Management team. You will help design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and collaborate with product managers and front-end engineers to help serve our internal collaborators and by extension, pet parents. Responsibilities: Apply algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to produce efficient, secure and performant code Develop, extend, and debug code within the scope of the team's existing tools and services Complete simple design and debug tasks Troubleshoot root causes of and solutions for bugs and production issues Contribute to the team's standard processes for logging, testing, instrumentation, metrics, monitors, alerts, practices, and processes Make meaningful contributions to the team's existing service architecture, data architecture, dev-ops, and infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services as part of a software development team Participate in on-call rotations and operational efficiency Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years of Software Engineering experience Experience in current core web application technologies: Kotlin, Spring, Spock/JUnit Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience Preferred: Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms Experience with TypeScript, React and GraphQL Experience with Docker or Kubernetes Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar automated testing tools Experience developing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tool The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
