Shipping Manager Location: Hamden, Connecticut 06517 Type: Full-Time Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
JFD Tube & Coil Products, Inc is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of custom shell & tube heat exchangers and other fabricated metal assemblies. We are committed to precision, safety, and quality in every product we ship. We are seeking a Shipping Manager for arranging the shipping & receiving of our products and raw materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Responsibilities :
1. Accurately create and distribute shipping documents, such as packing lists, bills of lading, customs documents, and invoices in accordance with JFD and customer requirements
2. Arrange inbound and outbound shipments with various carriers, customers, vendors, and logistics companies for cost-efficient and timely pickups and deliveries.
3. Examine outbound shipments to verify accuracy, completeness, proper labeling, and fitness for shipment
4. Address any issues that arise during transit, such as damage, lost shipments, or delays, and work with carriers and internal JFD departments as needed to resolve
5. Coordinate with internal departments to expedite inbound and outbound orders and shipments
6. Accurately enter into internal database certifications and other documents from vendors for purchased parts and materials
7. Work closely with Quality Control, Sales, and shop personnel to improve quality and output
Requirements & Skills :
Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple shipping processes
Attention to detail is crucial for verifying documentation and ensuring accuracy of shipments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for interacting with customers, vendors, and Internal departments.
Proficient in MS Office, Outlook and Adobe products Knowledge of Shipping Software (UPS Worldship) Education & Experience:
Education & Experience:
1. Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or similar is preferred but not mandatory
2. Experience in shipping low volume, made & engineered-to-order products is highly desirable
3. Knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation and terminology
4. Knowledge of SQL Based ERP Software (E2 Shoptech / Epicor / etc)
5. Experience in a metal manufacturing or job-shop environment a plus
Salary & Benefits:
Full Time Salary $52K - $65K DOE. Benefits include paid time off & paid holidays, 401(k) with company matching, profit sharing, cash bonuses and raises based on performance. Medical insurance with minimal employee contribution, Dental, $50K in Term Life Insurance fully paid and $1.5K/yr HSA free company contribution.
