SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
The Senior Manager Payment Cards is responsible for Amtrak’s policies, processes, technology, and agreements with respect to payment card acceptance. This position serves as the company’s payment card expert for projects including those dealing with digital wallet, debt and credit card acceptance, cost of acceptance reduction, fraud prevention, and data security. The Senior Manager Payment Cards is responsible for, and deals on behalf of Amtrak, with the credit card networks, credit and debit card processors, digital wallet providers, business partners, vendors, and other third parties.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
The Senior Manager Payment Cards is responsible for Amtrak’s policies, processes, providing business requirements for new technology, and ensuring compliance with agreements with respect to payment card issues.

This position leads the company’s payment card projects, through inter-departmental work teams, to:

 
• Introduce new forms of payment acceptance and to ensure compliance with revised card network standards with regards to existing forms of payment acceptance

• Assist in the investigation of payment card fraud, identify opportunities for process or technology improvements to reduce payment card fraud, and ensure policies and processes are compliant with card brand requirements for fraud prevention

• Reduce costs – by developing and implementing improvements to interchange, chargeback, and authorization processes

• Improve credit card data security – including coordination of training and compliance efforts to maintain industry standards (PCI-DSS)

 

The Senior Manager Payment Cards will deal, on behalf of Amtrak, with the credit card networks, credit and debit card processors, digital wallet providers, business partners, vendors, and other third parties.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor’s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

• 9 years of relevant experience required

• Hands on experience in credit card acceptance, merchant processing, and internal administration
• Demonstrated success in leadership and project management 
• Technical expertise in credit card operations, equipment, and administration

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Mastery of Excel, Access and Word
• High ethical standards

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 11+ years of relevant experience preferred.

• Familiarity with travel industry credit card authorization, settlement, dispute management and fraud investigation.
• Familiarity with Tableau for reporting is helpful.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
• Typically, will need to comprehend various business processes to quickly grasp new concepts, approaches, and systems
• Typically, will need to multi-task effectively while remaining flexible during instances of a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines
• Will need to work with employees throughout Amtrak and build strong working relationships.

 

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS :  

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

PAY TRANSPARENCY :

The salary/hourly range is $135,800-$176,040. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
