The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday!
Purpose and Impact:
Provides Health Services to children and families. Assists in the identification, coordination, completion of service and evaluation of health or family problems of enrolled children. Maintains awareness of current health services available in the community and works with physicians and other local health care providers to meet the needs of enrolled children. Responsible for the coordination of health follow-up services to identified children. Documents all health/family services that have been provided. Monitors health records at Head Start and Early Head Start center sites. If applicable to the Program, this includes the Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships Expansion grant. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds. May be subject to contact with communicable diseases; subject to dealing with families from dysfunctional and/or diverse multicultural backgrounds; subject to working in cramped or non-existent office space. Must be able to travel to complete assignments in any Head Start/Early Head Start Program location.
Education: Registered Nurse. BSN or Higher or related degree preferred.
Experience : Requires two years of experience in community health, pediatrics or school nursing. Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area.
Also required: Certification in First Aid and CPR within six months of the date assigned to this position; and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check and drug screening prior to hiring.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail are required and the candidate must be able to meet designated deadlines.
Other: Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
