Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Founding Program Manager for a newly established private family foundation. This position is 100% remote, with a strong preference for Bay Area-based candidates who can occasionally attend in-person meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Founding Program Manager will serve as the organizations first hire and play a defining role in designing, launching, and leading its inaugural youth support program. This individual will create and manage holistic services for high school and college-aged students (ages 1622) who have lost a parentconnecting them with academic, financial, emotional, and social support. The ideal candidate is compassionate, resourceful, and entrepreneurial, eager to build structure and community impact within a start-up philanthropic foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement the organizations first student support program from the ground up.
• Develop systems for participant intake, eligibility review, and ongoing support tracking.
• Build partnerships with schools, community groups, and service providers.
• Conduct student needs assessments and coordinate tailored academic, emotional, and financial support.
• Oversee day-to-day program operations, documentation, and outcome reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in nonprofit program development, youth services, or community outreach (start-up or early-stage environment a plus).
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong relationship-building and communication abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration tools.
• Empathetic, mission-driven, and self-motivated professional passionate about youth empowerment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Pay Rate: $48/hour (Temp-to-Hire; may shift to 2530 hrs/week after 6 months)
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week), flexible hours
• Location: 100% remote; Bay Area candidates preferred for occasional in-person meetings
