Summary

Under the direct administrative supervision of the Section Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehab, the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center is currently recruiting for a full-time Staff Physiatrist.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible)
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• Completed residency training in an accredited program leading to board eligibility
• English proficiency
• Preferred experience in inpatient rehabilitation, stroke, cardiac, pulmonary, MSK, EMG/NCV, TBI, SCI, amputee, orthopedic, with board certification preferred
• Specialty training, fellowship, or additional certifications are desirable
• Physical ability to perform all job activities

Duties

• Provide clinical services within the PM&R scope, including diagnosis, treatment, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation planning
• Utilize non-surgical treatment methods and perform injections and EMG testing
• Coordinate care for veterans with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal injuries
• Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
