America's Central Port is seeking a Part-time Security Monitor to work nights, holidays, weekends, and other hours as needed. Employer guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per month. Actual hours will vary based off of vacation and holiday schedules. Perfect for a retiree.

Past security experience preferred. Must have valid driver's license, clean police record and supportive references. High School graduate or equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak the English language.

Perform a variety of work tasks including:

• Answering telephone,
• After hours maintenance notification for tenants, including housing residents,
• Respond to fire alarms,
• Coordination with Port Maintenance Staff and local Fire and Police Departments, as needed,
• Roving patrol,
• Housing lockouts,
• Completion of daily paper work,
• Maintain necessary forms and supplies,
• Physical security,
• Clean and maintain the guard house,
• Maintain a clean and neat appearance,
• Maintain a good and positive attitude, and
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements: This position can become physically demanding and requires bending, lifting, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling and lifting approximately up to 50 lbs. Individual could be required to work holidays and in inclement weather. Must be able to hear, speak and see clearly to perform critical measurements. Must be able to operate a vehicle.
