Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Microbiology Lab Technician, where you will perform routine environmental monitoring in cleanrooms. This role involves testing viable and non-viable air particles, surface viable counts, and conducting various sample tests such as bioburden, endotoxin, and conductivity in compliance with USP requirements. You will also perform growth promotion of culture media and evaluate data against defined criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine environmental monitoring in cleanrooms.
• Collect and test water and steam samples for bioburden, endotoxin, and conductivity.
• Conduct growth promotion of culture media.
• Evaluate data against specified criteria and specifications.
• Support investigations for out-of-specification, out-of-expectation, and out-of-trend results.
• Maintain the laboratory in an inspection-ready state.
• Perform routine laboratory chores and quality control functions.
• Develop and maintain proficiency in trained test methods.
• Adhere to department and company policies and practices.
• Develop familiarity with cGMP, 21CFR, USP, EP, ICH, and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage reagent and equipment inventory for assigned responsibilities.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Quality Control and Stability laboratories.
• Knowledge of GMP and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to follow written instructions and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent documentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry preferred).
• 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience with GMP and environmental monitoring preferred.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities such as close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential for overtime depending on manufacturing outputs. The position is based in a pilot clean room and QC lab equipped with modern technology. The team consists of six members, with three focused on microbiology and analysis. The environment is communicative, fostering a collaborative culture within a small team, and tasks vary according to production needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
