Job Description: Medical Assistant - Oncology
Functions as a member of the clinic patient care team performing clinical tasks and procedures to support the delivery of care. Provides administrative support to the clinic.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Medical Terminology
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Medical Assistant or obtain within 16 months of hire
- College level education in secretarial sciences preferred
- Completion of basic medical terminology preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE - One (1) year recent medical assistant experience preferred
