AMETEK Aerospace & Defense is looking for a strong Manufacturing Engineer to work in our Wilmington, MA facility. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work in an aggressive, fast-paced, and flexible environment. Travel is limited but may be required on occasion.
How you will do it \n - Investigate and effectively resolve critical production issues.
\n - Represent the operations department on multiple new product development projects.
\n - Optimize and document manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products/processes.
\n - Design and coordinate the manufacturing of fixtures and tooling.
\n - Interface with customer, engineering, and supplier quality contacts during reviews, audits, and on-site visits.
\n - Participate in Root Cause / Corrective Action projects to address critical quality, design, and process issues.
\n - Compile and evaluate test data, prepare technical analysis, develop and release manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products/processes.
\n - Lead PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) efforts.
\n - Actively support Material Review Board activities in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
\n - Ability to layout work areas to optimize product flow.
\n - Ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends).
\n - Able to work collaboratively with shop technicians.
\n - Support lean six sigma initiatives including 5S and continuous improvement projects.

What we look for \n - Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology is required.
\n - Additional Training & Certifications in manufacturing related operations are a plus.
\n - Minimum of 7 years working as a Manufacturing, Production, or Industrial Engineer in an ISO9100 and/or AS9100 compliant manufacturing facility. Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
\n - Direct experience with the design and fabrication of fixtures and tooling using SolidWorks.
\n - Direct experience with planning assembly operations and writing shop floor Routings and work instructions.
\n - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to internal & external customers.
\n - Management of multiple simultaneous projects to successful completion in accordance with established schedules and milestones.
\n - Experience working in a multi-location organization with offsite management is preferred.
\n - Prior experience with FAA or other regulated environments.
\n - Prior experience with soldering, welding, brazing, and other electro-mechanical assembly operations.

Compensation Employee Type: Salaried
Salary Minimum: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $130,000
