Immigration Attorney – Full-Time
Location: New York City & Long Island
Firm: The Law Office of Centro de Immigration, P.C.
The Law Office of Centro de Immigration, P.C. is seeking a full-time, experienced Immigration Attorney to join our dedicated legal team. This position requires a minimum of one (1) year of immigration law experience and admission to the New York State Bar .
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in Immigration Court , including individual hearings, master calendar hearings, and pre-trial proceedings.
Appear in Family Court , particularly for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) matters.
Draft legal documents such as statements, affidavits, motions, appeals, and pre-trial briefs .
Prepare supporting documentation including country condition reports , evidence packages , and electronically file documents via ECAS or DHS portals .
Travel as required to courts in New York City.
Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient and effective case management.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in New York (Required).
Minimum 1 year of experience in immigration law.
Strong legal writing and courtroom advocacy skills.
Familiarity with ECAS and DHS online filing systems.
Ability to manage a high caseload and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
