A well-established and growing organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join its tax department. This confidential opportunity offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to a wide range of tax compliance and reporting responsibilities.

Position Summary:

The Tax Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare supporting documentation and Excel workbooks for sales & use tax and parking tax filings

• File sales & use and parking tax returns accurately and on time through various state and local tax portals

• Process and reconcile payments associated with tax filings

• Maintain the department’s tax calendar to track all filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions

• Oversee the management of tax-exempt transactions, including reviewing and maintaining exemption certificates

• Serve as a resource for tax-related inquiries from internal departments

• Conduct research on technical tax issues and respond to state and local tax notices

• Assist with tax projects and audits, including compiling information for regulatory agencies

• Post and reconcile tax payments in the general ledger

• Perform quarterly audits of regional tax activity to verify accuracy and compliance

  Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of relevant tax or accounting experience (multi-state tax experience preferred)

• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large data sets

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and tax compliance requirements

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
• licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
