Taylor Engineering, Inc. seeks to hire an entry level Geosciences Intern position in our Jacksonville, Florida lab. Please note that this is an on-site, part-time position.

The Geosciences Intern will work with both engineers and geologists on a variety of lab related projects. Tasks will include lab organization, sediment sample analysis, data entry, etc.

Requirements

A qualified candidate will possess the following.

• Currently completing bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Local candidates only
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and multitask effectively
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, etc.
• An understanding of ASTM testing procedures is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of gINT and/or OpenGround software is a plus but not required
• Field work may be required

Physical Job Requirements:

• Lifting up to (25) pounds unassisted.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Possess acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen.
• Ability to occasionally go out into the field and construction sites.
