Big Bend Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, state of the art, fast paced, one doctor, small animal practice located in Riverview, FL. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, Cold Laser Therapy, In-House Diagnostics, Digital Full-body Radiology, Medical and/or Vacation Boarding, and Grooming services.

Big Bend Animal Hospital is located in Riverview, just south of Tampa close to Brandon mall. It is a fast-growing area but maintains a rural feel. The proximity to I 75 allows for an easy commute to both the Tampa Bay, and the Sarasota area. Popular things to do in the area include Bush Gardens, Florida Aquarium and Zoo Tampa, beaches, boating, Ybor City downtown scene and more! Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay range: $17-$19/hr per experience
