Experienced Landscape Maintenance Workers
As a Parks Maintenance Worker, you'll be an integral part of maintaining the beauty and functionality of Leawoods parks and green spaces. A few of your daily tasks may include:
As a Park Maintenance team member, you will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of landscape and grounds maintenance tasks, from identifying and addressing issues with plant health to implementing effective maintenance solutions.
Youll be involved in a variety of park maintenance activities, including natural areas management, invasive species control, pesticide applications, trail maintenance, greenhouse production, and responding to inclement weather events such as flooding and snow removal. You will have a work-life balance where your schedule will be 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with some scheduled overtime.

Minimum Requirements: Must have two (2) years of experience in parks maintenance, or equivalent experience or education. Must possess a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record per the Citys Drivers Use of Vehicles for City Business policy throughout employment with the City.
Preferred Requirements : Four (4) years of experience in parks landscaping, arboriculture, or equivalent experience or education. Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brakes and tanker endorsements.

Starting Rate of Pay: $22.00 -$24.00 / hourly, DOQ

The City of Leawood offers career development opportunities that could increase the employee's experience, training, and pay. The position is eligible to receive pay increases every year. Employees also receive a Time-in-Service Bonus equal to 5% of their annual salary every three years of employment on their anniversary date.
