Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position is for an EL Resource Teacher serving elementary students in grades 3-5 within a general education setting. The role involves supporting English Language Learners through specialized instruction tailored to their unique needs. The position is a contract for the current school year, requiring a commitment of 32.5 hours per week over 5 days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted EL instruction to students in grades 3-5 to support language development and academic achievement.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain and manage an active caseload of EL students, providing individual and small group support.
• Administer language proficiency assessments and monitor student progress.
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to support student success.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL).
• ESL or Bilingual endorsement is required.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in grades 3-5.
• Strong knowledge of language acquisition and effective instructional strategies for EL students.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Location:

• Des Plaines, Illinois.

Work Schedule:

• 32.5 hours per week, 5 days a week.
