Community Engagement Coordinator - POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Community Engagement Coordinator REPORTS TO: Director of Mission Impact

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Community Engagement Coordinator carries out tasks that advance Mosaics mission to provide accessible, affordable mental health care by coordinating community outreach and marketing efforts and assisting the Director of Mission Impact with fundraising and development activities.

This position plays a key role in increasing public awareness of Mosaics services, building relationships with community stakeholders, and supporting donor stewardship and fundraising operations. The Coordinator will work closely with staff, board members, volunteers, and community partners to promote Mosaics impact and sustain its mission.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Community Engagement

  • Assist with planning and carrying out activities that increase awareness and community engagement with Mosaics mission and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders including businesses, civic groups, schools, and faith communities.
  • Assist with and promote Mosaics major public events, campaigns and activities.

Marketing and Communications

  • Create, manage, and distribute content across social media, newsletters, website, and print platforms, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to messaging guidelines.
  • Coordinate logistics for community presentations, events, and campaigns.
  • Track and report on engagement metrics and marketing outcomes.

Development Support

  • Assist the Director of Mission Impact with fundraising operations, including donor communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship activities.
  • Provide administrative support for donor tracking and maintaining accurate records.
  • Help prepare reports, fundraising materials, and impact stories.
  • Support planning and logistics for fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Facilitate volunteer coordination related to fundraising and community engagement.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with education in marketing, communications, public relations or related field (bachelors degree preferred, not required).
  • Knowledge of not-for-profit setting, management practices and operations
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, marketing, or nonprofit development roles required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with social media management, email marketing platforms, and donor management databases preferred.
  • Ability to deliver formal and informal public presentations.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and basic photo/video editing preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Candidates are subject to driving record verification and background screening in accordance with Mosaic policy and procedure.

Position-Specific Demands

This position performs the majority of work indoors, with some outdoor work during special events. Job duties require the ability to remain in a stationary position between 50-80% of the time worked; the ability to traverse the office area; constantly operate office machinery such as computers, calculators, faxes and printers. Duties also require the ability to lift, push, pull or move items up to approximately 30 pounds. Occasionally, an individual in the position might find the need to kneel, stoop, crouch or traverse tight spaces. The position requires the individual to be able to communicate frequently using appropriate senses in order to detect, discern, identify, recognize, judge, observe, estimate, inspect or assess details of the work environment.

The individual in this position could be exposed to changes in climate when working outdoors; and be subject to tension, stress and difficult situations from time to time. Occasionally, the individual could be exposed to hazardous chemicals such as inks, toners, cleaning chemicals or similar. Exposure to blood/bodily fluids and bloodborne pathogens is expected to be rare.

This position requires the ability to travel to and from local events and activities whether such travel occurs by personal vehicle or public transportation. All travel is subject to the Mosaic Travel Policy, found in the employee handbook.
