Join to apply for the Clinical Research Coordinator- Chung Lab role at Boston Children's Hospital . Overview This Clinical Research Coordinator will support clinical research in rare genetic conditions by facilitating online enrollment, online, remote and in-person data collection, collection of medical records, and collection of biospecimens from patients around the world with rare genetic conditions studied in Wendy Chung’s lab. Collection and analysis of these data will help characterize these new genetic conditions and design clinical trials to test new treatments and interventions. These rare genetic conditions include neurodevelopmental and behavioral conditions (including autism), structural congenital anomalies, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiomyopathies. The coordinator will work with a team of physicians, scientists, genetic counselors, and nurses, and partner with rare diseases patient advocacy groups to better understand these conditions. Key Responsibilities Assists Principal Investigators (PIs) in planning and implementing clinical research studies. Under the PI’s direction, coordinates preparation of protocol applications for submission to the IRB, sponsor, or regulatory authorities. Communicates with the IRB, study sponsors, CROs, study participants, and referring physicians as directed by the PI. Recruits study participants for enrollment in clinical trials. Follows study protocols. Handles informed consent procedures. Develops recruitment strategies and screens participants for eligibility via telephone, clinic, and other settings. Conducts follow-up with study participants in prescribed settings. Organizes study procedures and schedules visits. Assists the PI during patient visits and performs study procedures designated for the Study Coordinator. Performs source document abstraction, conducts study measurements, and completes Case Report Forms (CRFs) per best practices. Performs data quality checks, coordinates resolution of data queries, and completes data entry as warranted. Maintains regulatory binders, case report forms, source documents, and other study documents. Monitors adverse events and reports them to the PI, sponsor, and IRB. Updates protocol and amendments as needed. Assists investigators with data and/or document preparation for journal publications. Performs literature searches and article retrieval as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience required; 3+ years preferred. Analytical skills to interpret moderately to complex data. Well-developed communication skills to convey critical information to patients and collaborate with diverse stakeholders; ability to mediate solutions. Advanced writing skills.
